I'm getting to my aforementioned Antichrists piece, but something I just read really pisses me off. Sean Hannity, for those who don't know he is a right-wing Fox "News" TV pundit, and he may well get his own Antichrist column from me, said on his radio show yesterday:
"there are things in life worth fighting and dying for, and one of 'em is making sure (House Democratic Leader) Nancy Pelosi doesn't become the speaker."
Hannity was seeking to make sure that Republican voters come out and prevent an embarrassing turnaround in the upcoming mid-term elections. My problem is this: does this not almost sound like a call to suicide bombing? Obviously that's extreme and not what he meant, but is it acceptable to say that it is worth fighting and dying to keep the Democrats from winning an election? "Fighting and dying"? I know not many people have come across this blog yet, but any who do I'd appreciate a comment if you agree, to reassure me that I am not going insane in thinking this is not acceptable. Or if you disagree, so I can know for sure that I have gone insane.
Good catch, it seems that like me you monitor rw talk radio...it's kind of like flicking your sore tooth with your tongue to see if it's still painful.
I hate Sean Hannity with a searing white hot passion.
That quote isn't the worst I"ve heard from him, but a great example of his filth.

That's pretty insane, yes, given its repercussions for the democratic process. The people who would be responsible for choosing to vote Pelosi into power are Hannity's fellow citizens. Therefore it sounds like a call to Civil War to me.

If a Muslim cleric stood out on an American street and uttered the same thing, word for word, he'd be enjoying the weather in Cuba within hours.

If you are going insane you are in good company. Keith Olberman raised an eyebrow in disgust while noting Hannity's call to action. So you were not the only one smelling gunpowder.

I agree with all that has been said; you are not alone. The republicans are terrified of losing in November and will do anything and everything to try and prevent it. I predict that we will be assaulted from now until then with every trick and tactic they can conceive of. For them, it is worth fighting and dying for.

The question is, What do we have to do collectively to get him and 80 % of Fox (Fix) News off the air? They really do perpetuate discourse throughout the country with an agenda that can only be categorized as terrorist rhetoric. We really need to get Fox out a here!!!!! Bil, Sean, Greta the whole crew. I can't believe Geraldo is with them. He was considered a flaming liberal 20 years ago!

A myriad of fires light the night
From our camp on the river bank.
The shrieking snowstorm breaks my dream
Of my peaceful, tranquil home.
